The real problem is that when you switch from RDPing into one machine with a given resolution, and then to another with a different resolution, it always remembers the last resolution, and so you end up with a mismatched RDP window that will not go full screen until you disconnect, then adjust the slider again. It's incredibly annoying. The RDP client should re-detect each time it is connecting to any machine what the full screen resolution should be.
